My first practicum experience was so much fun! I was placed in the first grade room with Stephanie Leingang at Grimsrud Elementary School in Bismarck, ND. I learned many things from my cooperating teacher. 

I was in my practicum classroom for a total of three weeks. During the first week, I mainly observed how Mrs. Leingang taught, and I got to know the class. I typically helped any students who had questions or needed more help. During the second week of practicum I taught three lessons of phonics. As the lessons went on I got more comfortable and confident in myself to teach. My stating of expectations and classroom management skills improved with each lesson I taught. I was more involved in the class and when I walked in in the mornings the students would get super excited. During the third week of practicum I taught another two phonics lessons and one writing lesson. I worked on my classroom management skills and stating clearer expectation. I also worked on becoming more confident in my self as my practicum experience went on.
